STOCK MARKET REVIEW: 3RD JULY 2012
BSE Small-Cap index was up 0.80% while the BSE Mid-Cap index finished 0.48% up.CNX MIDCAP 50 index was up 0.58% and S&P CNX 500 was up around 0.38%. The SENSEX closed 26 points up at 17,425 and the NIFTY stood at 5,287 up by 9 points.

 BSE SENSEX and NIFTY traded in range bound session for the second consecutive day as markets are waiting for a fresh trigger to get a certain direction. Investors are expecting for some positive policy changes to boost up the slower pace in economy growth from new finance minister. Though global markets traded slightly higher over the hopes, European Central bank may cut rates by 25 basis points in a meeting scheduled on 5th JULY. Indian rupee took a sharp recovery and appreciated by 63 paise to 54.80 against the U.S. Dollar. However PNB, HDFC and telecom giant Bharti Airtel topped the buying list while top software exporter TCS, metal’s major Jindal steel traded under pressure.

Today’s nifty top gainer were:
DLF changed 4.20% with 91, 99,931 volumes
BHARTIARTL changed 2.90% with 62, 63,443 volumes
HINDALCO changed 2.15% with 79, 11,213 volumes


Nifty Losers

Today’s nifty top losers were:
BHEL with volume 31, 04,124 and changed -1.79%
JINDALSTEEL with volume 33, 26,675 and changed -1.55%
TCS with volume 11, 13,591 and changed -1.50%

• Crude Oil March delivery is witnessing losses, and is down over a percent at $ 51.55 a barrel.
• Brent Oil April expiry has also shed almost a percent at $ 54.57.
